Strategy Maven Agency is a women owned & run firm specializing in Email & SMS Marketing for Direct to Consumer Brands. Our clientle includes industries such as CPG, Food & Beverage, Fashion, Beauty, and more.
As we scale, we're splitting our team into specialized departments—and we need a sharp, data-obsessed Email Marketing Strategist to be a founding member of our dedicated Strategy Department.
This is your chance to step into a pure strategy role (no more juggling account management tasks!) where you'll be the strategic brain behind our US-based client campaigns. You'll focus on what you do best: building roadmaps, analyzing performance, optimizing deliverability, and turning data into actionable strategies that drive real results.
This is primarily a behind-the-scenes role with minimal client-facing responsibilities, but with significant opportunity to shape the department, develop best practices, and grow into leadership as we expand.
Why this role is exciting: You'll be a strategy maven—the go-to expert who influences how we approach email marketing across the entire agency. If you love digging into metrics, solving technical challenges, and creating strategic frameworks that make campaigns perform better, this is your opportunity to build something from the ground up.
Remote Work Details:
This is a full-time, remote position
You'll work with US based D2C e-commerce clients

What You'll Do:

Build comprehensive email marketing roadmaps and customer journey maps aligned with client goals
Conduct account audits to spot opportunities and develop improvement plans
Create strategic briefs for campaigns and automation workflows (welcome series, abandoned cart, win-back flows, behavioral triggers)
Develop opt-in strategies and list growth tactics including pop-ups, lead magnets, forms, and subscriber acquisition campaigns
Design segmentation and personalization strategies based on what the data tells you
Partner with Account Managers to interpret analytics and translate insights into recommendations
Develop A/B testing strategies to continuously optimize performance
Review and audit existing flow setups to ensure proper technical implementation and strategic alignment
Technical Excellence & Deliverability
Monitor and optimize email deliverability across all accounts (we're talking 98%+ inbox placement)
Troubleshoot spam complaints, bounce rates, and sender reputation issues
Stay on top of ISP policies, authentication protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), and deliverability trends
Implement list hygiene and management best practices
Ensure compliance with CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and other regulations
Analytics & Reporting
Analyze performance metrics (open rates, CTR, conversions, revenue, ROI) and identify trends
Create reports and presentations that turn complex data into clear, compelling stories
Complete monthly strategic reviews and quarterly roadmap updates with actionable next steps
Track KPIs and use them to inform strategic decisions
Department Building & Growth
Help establish processes, frameworks, and best practices for our newly formed Strategy Department
Opportunity to grow into a leadership role as the department expands
Team & Process Collaboration
Partner with Account Managers, creative teams, and developers to execute your strategic vision
Create templates, frameworks, and documentation to level up the whole team
Identify ways to improve workflows and continuously optimize department processes
